South West Security Ensures Safety & Smooth Entry at Wells Comedy Festival

The Wells Comedy Festival, held every May in the heart of Somerset, is one of the most anticipated cultural events in the South West. In May 2025, South West Security Services was proudly appointed as the official provider of door and event security services for this prestigious comedy event, held across multiple venues including the iconic Wells Comedy Club.

With thousands of comedy fans descending upon the historic city of Wells, ensuring the safety, smooth entry, and protection of both attendees and performers was a top priority. South West Security brought its three decades of experience in door supervision and crowd management to deliver a reliable, professional presence throughout the festival weekend.

Our Role at Wells Comedy Club – May 2025

South West Security was responsible for:

• Door Supervision: Professionally trained, SIA-licensed staff ensured smooth check-ins, managed guest lists, and maintained controlled access at every entrance point.

• Crowd Management: Our team provided visible, friendly supervision of queues and audience areas, maintaining public safety without interrupting the event atmosphere.

• Performer & VIP Area Security: We ensured backstage areas and VIP zones remained secure and accessible only to authorised personnel.

• Venue Perimeter Checks: Regular patrols around Wells Comedy Club and nearby venues ensured safe and compliant site conditions.

• Emergency Response Preparedness: All security staff were trained in first aid and emergency protocol, ready to act swiftly and calmly if required.

Our presence allowed organisers, performers, and guests to focus entirely on the laughter and celebration, knowing that safety was in professional hands.
